Video news story: Ukrainians graduate from Latvian language courses in Tukums!

2022.11.08

This autumn, Alvis Šķenders, a lawyer at the Information Centre for Newcomers, went to Latvian town Tukums to carry out an important task. He was assigned to issue certificates of completion to Ukrainian civilians who have mastered the Latvian language at A1 level. Alvis was accompanied by a film crew.

In Tukums we met Latvian language teacher Gaisma Mukane, the head of the regional office "Zemgale" of the Information Centre for Newcomers Iveta Dembovska, and, of course, the Ukrainians who graduated from the course. The bravest graduates also spoke to us in Latvian!

To be part of this touching event, watch the 14th episode of the Information Centre for Newcomers News!

The activity of the Information Centre for Newcomers within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund is ensured and developed by the NGO “Shelter “Safe House””. The centre is co-funded by the European Union. Grant Agreement No. PMIF/12/2020/3/01/
